Always And Forever

Wednesday, June 27th, 2007

My heart weeps when you’re not here,
and sings sweet songs when you’re near.

My life is trusted completely with you,
for I know you protect me from all harm.

I treasure the precious moments we share,
they will be with me for eternity.

Thank you baby for all you do,
I will always and forever be loving you.

A Child Is the Greatest Gift

Wednesday, June 27th, 2007

A child is the greatest gift
That our lives can bestow.
It brings the most exquisite joy
That we will ever know.
Some days deliver happiness,
Far more than we can touch.
We need the help of all our friends
To comprehend how much.

And so we thank you for the gifts,
Both those you brought and are,
That celebrate this rich, full life
And its rising star!

What Is A Poem?

Wednesday, June 27th, 2007

What is a poem?
Is it a child running free without a care in the world,
With no idea of the tough times ahead.
What is a poem?
Is it bumping into someone in the street and knowing instantly that you love them,
But will probably never see them again.
What is a poem?
Is it a woman giving birth for the first time going through all that pain,
And still loving that beautiful baby in a way in which only another mother can understand.
What is a poem?
Is it experiencing the tsunami in person,
While other people watch it in their homes on the news.
What is a poem?
Is it discovering that an apple will always fall down when droped,
Is it asking why does it fell down when dropped.
What is a poem?
Is it dying and knowing that the person you once loved and touched is underground,
Is it knowing that someday you will also die.
What is a poem?
Its all of the above and many more besides,
And being able to express it in a way that others will be able to associate with.
All of this is a poem.

New Year’s Falls Just at the Darkest Hours

Wednesday, June 27th, 2007

New Year’s falls just at the darkest hours,
Even as the sun lies sick and dying.
When the darkness turns hope starts anew,
Year by year a lesson ever true,
Each of us the bitter cold defying.
All my life I want to be with you,
Restoring year by new year what is ours.

Happy Mother’s Day to Those Whose Children

Wednesday, June 27th, 2007

Happy Mother’s Day to those whose children
Are those for whom their love must be their womb,
Pleased to labor in a common garden
Pruning plants they would themselves have sown.
Yes, praise to those whose love is notwithstanding,
Mothers who could not be mothers, yet
Of charity and need came to the calling,
Taking from the world what joy they would.
How well the will can ride an errant wind!
Each fate is but the field of our endeavor.
Reason may resist our heartfelt ends
‘Ere we share our passions with another.
So may we all, through sacrifice and love,
Daily do what will our spirits prove,
Asking only for what we might give,
Yielding not our labors but our lives.

Without a Mother

Wednesday, June 27th, 2007

I wish I had a mother
A father who cares more
Someone I could turn to
In life’s thunderous storms

I wish I had more hope
Instead of these dark beliefs
More positive influences
That will not just up and leave

I can honestly say
A child without a mother is lost
For the mother teaches value
While the father teaches cost

These I Can Promise

Wednesday, June 27th, 2007

I cannot promise you a life of sunshine;
I cannot promise riches, wealth, or gold;
I cannot promise you an easy pathway
That leads away from change or growing old.

But I can promise all my heart’s devotion;
A smile to chase away your tears of sorrow;
A love that’s ever true and ever growing;
A hand to hold in yours through each tomorrow.

Yes, I’ll Marry You

Loves Small Flaw

Wednesday, June 27th, 2007

It will catch up to you
whether you want it to or not,
Make your heart swell
and tie it up in a knot.

You wont know what it is
but you’ll feel it inside.
Your feelings for this person
well up inside.

Then no matter how far
and no matter how near…
Each word or phrase she says,
You’ll always hold them dear.

Because I Live

Wednesday, June 27th, 2007

The earth shook,
The mountains quivered,
The seas crashed,
My heart stood still.
When I saw you
Looking at me.

My earth shook,
My mountains quivered,
My seas crashed,
The day you
First loved me.

My earth shook,
My mountains quivered,
My seas crashed
The day you died.

The earth now still,
Mountains rest,
Seas are calm.
Because I live.

Kiss Me

Wednesday, June 27th, 2007

Kiss me tonight without saying anything
kiss me until the blood sprouts
kiss me with rage, it is my farewell
tomorrow I emigrate without knowing where!

Kiss me in the tip of desire
kiss me sweetly in the corner of martyrdom
kiss me with longing at the border of glory
tomorrow I leave without knowing where!

Kiss me without rest with your best kiss
kiss me with happiness, while my soul cries
kiss me with delirium it is my farewell

Kiss me until the dawn arrives
kiss me with limitless passion
kiss me…. just kiss me…
Without saying anything!
