Hush Little Child

Wednesday, June 27th, 2007

Hush little child,
whimpering in dreams
your all cosy and warm,
wrapped in rainbows and moonbeams
outside the wind howls,
there’s frost on the ground
And Autumn is whining,
its early warning sound
so hush my baby,
there’s no cause for alarm
for in your life,
you’ll face many a storm
But with God at your side,
there is nothing to fear
Because his love and affection,
will always be near.

I Miss You, Though I’m Not Quite Sure I Love You

Wednesday, June 27th, 2007

I miss you, though I’m not quite sure I love you.
All I know’s I like my music sad.
Crystal days I’m pensive, thinking of you,
And while you’re gone, I’m never really glad.
I think of love as some enormous sea,
Tempestuous or still, but never ending,
Something that once there will always be.
But that is not the message that I’m sending.
Missing you, for me, is something new:
An opening into my changing heart.
Love is something that I won’t yet do,
But feeling what I feel for you’s a start.
Love, like prayer, should not be lightly said,
So I’ll just say, “You’re in my heart” instead!

Ghost And Goblins

Wednesday, June 27th, 2007

It was a cold and gloomy, October night,
with eyes wide, filled with fright,
she hurried along, the sidewalk dark,
as she neared the entrance, to the park.

All around her, were ghostly shapes,
some with fangs, shrouded in black capes.
A couple old hags, most suredly witches,
others with bodies, covered with stitches.

As she scurried along, in shadows deep,
up behind her, she hears something creep.
With pounding heart, she began to run faster,
knowing she’s the one, the thing is after.

On her shoulder, a hand tightly grips,
with a loud scream, she suddenly trips.
Glancing around, she sees it’s only her brother,
hand over mouth, a laugh trying to smother.

There’s really nothing, we should fear,
for it’s only, one night of the year,
when ghosts and goblins, can be seen,
so please have a safe and happy, Halloween.

Thank You for Your Good and Gentle Care

Wednesday, June 27th, 2007

Thank you for your good and gentle care,
Having made your classroom bright with song,
Apparent in my child’s frequent smiles,
Nestled in his thoughts of right and wrong.
Kids, like teachers, know when love is there.

You are the connoisseur of many styles,
Opening through days difficult and long
Understandings supple, sweet, and fair.

Friendship and Gold

Wednesday, June 27th, 2007

Friendship is a priceless gift,
That cannot be bought or sold.
But its value is far great than,
A mountain made of gold.

For gold is cold and lifeless,
It cannot see nor hear.
And in times of trouble,
It’s powerless to cheer.

It has no ears to listen,
Nor a heart to understand.
It cannot give you comfort,
Or lend a helping hand.

So when you ask God for a gift
Be happy if he sends
Not diamonds pearls or riches
But the love of a true GREAT FRIEND!!

What makes a friend?

Wednesday, June 27th, 2007

A friend
What makes a friend?
A friend
Is someone that everyone needs
A friend
Is that special one
A friend
Is someone you tell EVERYTHING
A friend
Is someone you never lie to
A friend
Can be a boy or a girl
A friend
Is someone that is always their
A friend
Will always listen to you
A friend
Always has input to give
A friend
Will never leave you in the dust
A friend
Will help you through the thick and the thin
A friend
Will always stand by your side
A friend
Will never let you down
A friend
Is someone everyone needs
What would you do if you didnt have a friend?

The Little Girl

Wednesday, June 27th, 2007

The little girl inside my heart,
lies sleeping in her bed.
No worry of what tomorrow brings,
or where she’ll lay her head.
In confusion I sit and contemplate,
and ask myself “just why…”
Tomorrow she will wonder where,
as we learn to say, “goodbye”.
The little room she calls her own,
will no longer hold her things.
She’ll have to learn a new address,
like the one she proudly sings.
No dirty clothes on the bathroom floor,
no toys will clutter the way.
The quiet rooms will miss her laugh,
and the things she use to say.
Those precious times will be at home,
in the new space that we find.
All the tears and unwelcome rooms,
that’s what we’ll leave behind.
Hearts will mend and time will heal,
what we once felt was home.
But, in the end we’ll find our place,
and our hearts will never roam.
The little girl inside my heart,
lies sleeping in her bed.
No worry of what tomorrow brings,
or where she’ll lay her head.

A Bond Between a Mother and a Daughter

Wednesday, June 27th, 2007

Open her heart to the blessings around her.
Show her that joy and Jesus surround her.
Help her to trust in the bible, not fear it.
Teach her that fantasies are the wings of the spirit.
Guide her with love and quiet persuasion.
For she is the Lord’s pleasure, his cloud of creation.

Why God Made Friends

Wednesday, June 27th, 2007

God made the world with a heart full of love,
Then He looked down from Heaven above,

And saw that we all need a helping hand,
Someone to share with, who’ll understand.

He made special people to see us through
The glad times and the sad times, too;

A person on whom we can always depend,
Someone we can call a friend.

God made friends so we’ll carry a part
Of His perfect love in all our hearts.

Dear Mom and Dad

Wednesday, June 27th, 2007

Of the favorite memories of our family,
Mom and Dad ,
Christmas rekindles all the best we’ve ever had
The wonderful traditions you taught us,
And we kept from year to year
Added to each Holiday
To make it’s meaning clear.
Your warmth, smiles and laughter
Kept us eager to believe
In the magic and wonder
That was part of Christmas Eve,
And though Christmas
Have come and gone,
It seems that wishes did come true,
In the lasting love our family shares
Because of the caring by both of you.
